Gluskin-Townley Group, which does market research for the National Bicycle Dealers Association, estimates 10,000 electric bikes were sold in the U.S. in 2007, up from 6,000 in 2006.

De kans op een ijsvrije Noordpool dit jaar wordt steeds kleiner. De ijssmelt gaat deze zomer langzamer dan vorig jaar maar verloopt wel sneller dan in 2006. De ijsbedekking blijft zodoende een neergaande trend vertonen. Dat meldt het KNMI op haar website.

With all the hype for the DNC and the upcoming choice of McCain's running mate, Maker's Mark takes a piss out of both of them with their own news channel. (Really it is a call for people to register to vote and well drink bourbon... who doesn't support those two things?)

Dr. Williams’ letter (Aug. 22) about Obama reminding him of a “Turtle on the post” seeing things upside down, backward, being disoriented and wondering how it got in that position. I agree with the observation. But as a farm girl, I know the secret and the reasoning of those who put the turtle on the post.

Last week I wrote a post about the skewed distribution of financial value created by start-up companies. That post had the goal of pointing out that a few companies account for much of the financial value generated by start-ups. But a couple of readers pointed out something else that is very interesting in those data.
