A poll conundrum

Sun, 20 Apr 2008 21:03:12 PDT
By Libby I've never given much weight to polling in trying to predict long term trends. Polls by their nature take a snapshot of a moment in time and by the time they're published some new factor has likely as not already swayed public opinion in another direction. But still, the polling in PA has puzzled me because it seems so far removed from the reality on the ground. I mean consider this recent rally for Obama in Philly. By all accounts at least 35,000 people showed up and their enthusiasm

One, a new national poll shows that for the first time in many months Hillary Clinton has reclaimed the lead over Barack Obama among Democratic voters. On the other hand, another poll shows Obama maintaining his lead, albeit much smaller than just a week ago. Two, polls in Pennsylvania seem to indicate th

Albeton Live’s Non-Existent "Secret" Vocoder; No One Needs a Vocoder

Sun, 20 Apr 2008 19:46:45 PDT
I haven’t necessarily been following Live’s forums lately, but apparently one of the hot-button issues lately was a rumored "secret" vocoder in a future build of Ableton Live. I’ve been hearing buzz about this for weeks, but Garret Collins is the latest. (Sorry, Gar, but there’s th

Is Dislocating Technology a Change Agent?

Sat, 19 Apr 2008 23:45:06 PDT
Until recently Hans Lodder thought that dislocating technology was something used in wars. But Gartner uses the term for IT technology that enables a completely different and better approach for business processes.
